Our Association

The SPA  operates in Cardiff and the Vale with the stated:

Aims

To engage with key policy and decision makers at both local and national levels, in order to influence the making of policy    that positively impact on the Somali Community.

To improve the socio-economic situation of the multiply disadvantaged Somali Community.

To promote the good practice of equal opportunity and diversity in the workplace and service delivery and work towards the elimination of discrimination and inequalities.

Objectives

To provide a good standard and bilingual and culturally sensitive "one-stop shop" service on holistic approach

To empower the members of the community and minimise the dependency culture.

To encourage volunteering in the community and promote volunteering culture

To work in partnership with key stakeholders in the statutory, voluntary and community sectors.

To meet the differing needs of the various community groups including women, the elderly, the young people and the disabled.

 

Our Mission

Vision

 Members of the Somali community in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan will be enabled to take full advantage of the opportunities available to all their citizens on an equal footing. The Somali community will take an active role, alongside all the other diverse communities, in making Cardiff and the Vale into healthy places to live that are socially and economically vibrant.
